Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Sacramento Hearing

On Thursday, July 30th, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) held a field hearing on debt collection in Sacramento, CA. The CFPB is an agency that supports consumer finance markets and enforcement. The hearing featured remarks from CFPB Director Richard Cordray, as well as testimony from consumer groups, industry representatives, and members of the public. Over the course of her career, June Coleman has developed a niche practice defending credit and collection professionals accused of violating state and federal consumer protection laws.

18 Kronick Lawyers Included in the Sacramento Magazine's 2016 Top Lawyers List

Kronick congratulates it's 18 attorneys that are included in Sacramento magazine's 2016 Top Lawyers List. Voting for Professional Research Services’ survey was open to all licensed attorneys in Sacramento, California; they were asked whom they would recommend among 56 legal specialties, other than themselves. Once the online nominations were complete, each nominee was carefully evaluated on the basis of the survey results, the legitimacy of their license, and their current standing with the State Bar Association of California.

Kronick shareholder appointed to CALED Tax Increment Financing Technical Committee

Kronick shareholder Constantine Baranoff has been appointed to the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Technical Committee for the California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED). The TIF Technical Committee will educate CALED members and the public on Tax Increment Financing, including Enhanced Infrastructure Financing Districts and Community Revitalization and Investment Authorities which have been authorized by recent state legislation.

Kronick is pleased to announce that Rebecca L. Harms, first-year associate, has joined the firm. She will be working in the firm’s Sacramento office. Rebecca is a member of the firm’s water and natural resources law practice. She received her J.D. from the University of California at Davis School of Law in 2015 and her B.A. from Stanford University in 2011. Rebecca was born and raised in Salinas, California, where her family has been for four generations.

Kronick Announces Vera & Barbosa Of Counsel Relationship

Kronick is pleased to announce that Ronald T. Vera and Henry S. Barbosa have joined the firm as Of Counsel. They will be located in the Claremont office in Los Angeles County. Ron Vera advises education foundations and nonprofit entities, in addition to representing businesses, school districts and postsecondary institutions on a variety of matters. He has advised and formed over 50 education foundations in California.
